Lymphedema
Lymphedema is a term used to describe tissue swelling that results from an accumulation of protein-rich fluid, which is typically discharged through the lymphatic system of the body. The arms or legs are the most frequently affected, however the chest wall and abdomen might also be affected.

Treatments for lymphedema differ depending on the cause and severity of your illness. Physical therapy or occupational therapy are possible treatments to maintain lymphatic fluid flowing and lessen pain and edema.
